High Pass Filter Image Processing

high pass filter image processing

    image processing
  • In electrical engineering and computer science, image processing is any form of signal processing for which the input is an image, such as a photograph or video frame; the output of image processing may be either an image or, a set of characteristics or parameters related to the image.

  • The analysis and manipulation of a digitized image, esp. in order to improve its quality

  • The alteration or manipulation of images that have been scanned or captured by a digital recording device.

  • enhancing and manipulating an image, such as by adjusting its size, resolution, or color palette.

    pass filter
  • A band-pass filter is a device that passes frequencies within a certain range and rejects (attenuates) frequencies outside that range. An example of an analogue electronic band-pass filter is an RLC circuit (a resistor–inductor–capacitor circuit).

  • a lofty level or position or degree; "summer temperatures reached an all-time high"

  • at a great altitude; "he climbed high on the ladder"

  • A high point, level, or figure

  • greater than normal in degree or intensity or amount; "a high temperature"; "a high price"; "the high point of his career"; "high risks"; "has high hopes"; "the river is high"; "he has a high opinion of himself"

  • A notably happy or successful moment

  • A high-frequency sound or musical note

Ok, since a couple of you have asked.. here is my processing break down on this one.
First, let me say my friend Glenn T. suggested that I try some new lighting techniques and try to work out some more dramatic shadows.. With that in mind these were shot with just my sigma shoe flash bounced straight up.
I always start with the eyes.
Mask and copy the iris to a new layer and set to screen.
Dodge and burn the screen layer to diverse the coloring.
Paste iris again on 3rd layer, set to "overlay" and run a high pass filter on it.. really makes them pop!
Then I masked and copied all the shiny things! Bracelet, rings, earings and such and pasted to a 4th layer set to "overlay" with a high strength HP filter, makes them stand out and shine.
Duplicate the background layer and run noise ninja to smooth it out some, around "10"..
Then Erase @ 50% the areas I don't want smooth like hair and wall texture.
Merge the smooth layer with background, then duplicate and set to "soft light" to enhance shadow and color.. I usually run the "shadow / highlight" to bring some light back in...
Duplicate the background 1 more time and run lucisart to enhance texture on the walls and chair, then erase the model from this layer so she shows through smooth.
That's about it so far as I can recall.. I process everything differently and feel my way through till I'm happy with the image.
Hope that helps! ;-)

Straw Bale

Straw Bale

Whilst out in the car I chanced across this wheat field dotted with round bales of straw. Luckily I had the camera with me and so I quickly took some shots before the storm broke. Minutes after this shot was taken the rain arrived, accompanied by the odd clap of thunder - and so summer departs in style! This image has been subjected to quite a lot of post-processing, mainly due to the poor light creating drab colours. The image was initially blended with a high pass layer, and then was followed immediately by an overlay of a duplicate layer. Thereafter a few adjustments with contrast and exposure were made to bring out the remaining detail in the sky, and finally a warm filter was added to blend the sky and the land together. It is quite a bold shot and will not appeal to everyone, but it is one that I am especially pleased with :-)

Every morning, the water filter forms were taken apart so we could remove the filters. Then we put them together and poured more. Each home in the batays will have a water filter. Clean water will make the people healthier.

Hoya Circular Polarizing Filter. Diy Charcoal Filter.

Hoya Circular Polarizing Filter

hoya circular polarizing filter

    circular polarizing
  • (Circular polarizer) A polarizer is a device that converts a beam of electromagnetic waves (light) of undefined or mixed polarization into a beam with well-defined polarization. The common types of polarizers are linear polarizers and circular polarizers.

  • A porous device for removing impurities or solid particles from a liquid or gas passed through it

  • A device for suppressing electrical or sound waves of frequencies not required

  • remove by passing through a filter; "filter out the impurities"

  • an electrical device that alters the frequency spectrum of signals passing through it

  • A screen, plate, or layer of a substance that absorbs light or other radiation or selectively absorbs some of its components

  • device that removes something from whatever passes through it

  • A climbing or sprawling evergreen shrub with ornamental foliage and waxy flowers, native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific and grown as a greenhouse or indoor plant

  • Hoya is a genus of 200-300 species of tropical climbing plants in the family Apocynaceae (Dogbane), native to southern Asia (India east to southern China and southward), Australia, and Polynesia. Common names for this genus are waxplant, waxvine, waxflower or simply hoya.

  • Asclepias L. (1753), the milkweeds, is a genus of herbaceous perennial, dicotyledonous plants that contains over 140 known species. It previously belonged to the family Asclepiadaceae, but this is now classified as the subfamily Asclepiadoideae of the dogbane family Apocynaceae.

Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camara lens. They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. They also saturate colors and increase contrast. Polarizers come in two variations but have the same effect. Linear polarizers work with older camera meters; Circurlar polarizers are designed for today's newer split-beam metering systems used in auto focus cameras. Check your camera's manual.

Color and contrast enhancement Light rays which are reflected by any surface can become polarised so polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. CIRCULAR PL filters allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA's polarising filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot. Reduce Glare and Reflections with the CIRCULAR PL Using the CIRCULAR PL filter, reflections and glare can be reduced significantly from non-metallic surfaces. A camera angle of 30 degrees from the reflecting surface (glass, water, etc.) is ideal for maximum effect.

Dreams do come true!

Dreams do come true!

Teacher Wendy (Wendy_young) is one of Jonathan Antin's biggest fans. Wendy joined forces with another giant Jonathan Antin fan, Trish (AgentLA), and somehow convinced him to honor Wendy with a gorgeous haircut for her birthday.

Jonathan was so kind to make a housecall at Wendy's home in Glendale. Trish wasn't as lucky to get a haircut but was more than happy to hang out with the hot hairstylist and his birthday girl client.

It was a blast to hang out with Jonathan, ask him questions about everything from fatherhood to what ingredients to avoid in hair product to his days on Bravo's hit show "BLOW OUT"

Jonathan Antin proved to be the nice guy he claims to be beyond our expectations. He exudes cool and sexy. And his knowledge about the industry, the business and entertainment side of his Brand --and of course the haircut, blew us away.

What a treat!
